Removing a Curse or the Evil Eye

Removing curses, a crossed up condition, a hex, a jinx, bad juju, or evil eye is something that needs to be approached very carefully. Many times, clients come to me with an issue that they believe they have been cursed or crossed. They have stories about a neighbor who is just evil to them, believing they have laid tricks for them to walk through. Some are sent food, clothing, and letters dressed with powders or spirits with malicious intent. Not always is someone actually sent malicious magick their way, and many workers refuse these cases for good reasons. Such as, some people are not actually experiencing a curse or bad juju but actually a psychosomatic condition in which they are convinced they are crossed when in fact they are experiencing a mental illness or mind tricks or a physical symptom of an underlying medical condition. I have had clients come to me in which everything in their life seems to have gone terribly wrong only to discover that the individual isn't cursed but really suffers from OCD. I once had a client who was convinced that a black magick witch was sending evil spirits to her to invade her body, when in fact, she was neglecting her doctors orders to have surgery performed to remove ovarian cysts that were causing pains and other issues. :/ This is not to say that it's always a real case of hypochondria, OCD, or a delusional disorder, or a medical condition with clients who feel they are cursed. In fact, there are many folks that are experiencing the Evil Eye, which can give symptoms of distress, feeling tired, string of seemingly bad luck, misfortunes, chronic illnesses, anxiety attacks, abnormal pale coloring, headaches, etc. but a trip to the physician shows a clean bill of health. The Evil Eye is not an intentionally thrown curse at the victim, it's manifested in victims in which a jealous individual or family member throws out the negative thoughts, jealousy, and envious energies to them. The Green Eyed Monster, so to speak, attacks! Things like having an Egg cleansing or bathing in Eucalyptus leaves can relieve the victim of the Evil Eye, as well as regular cleansing and protection methods on a regular basis. Therefore, when dealing with a potential case of a cursed or crossed client, there are carried out protocols to be put into place and cautions to proceed with throughout the entire case. First thing, inform them of the various situations that need to be evaluated such as
  • family history of health- any history of mental illness that would contribute to the belief they are dealing with a curse
  • current physical health- regular check ups, are they diagnosed with any anxiety disorders, on any medicines, how is their diet and nutrition, etc.
  • family history of magickal or spiritual traditions- any history of family members practicing or feeding spirits that might have an affect on the client. For instance, I had a client who found out that her sister in law was a practicing magician trained to lay tricks via feeding her victims foods with powders she made in order to keep them from succeeding in every way possible from love life to their careers
  • their place of dwelling-this may seem strange to some, but this is something that in my own experience that has played an important role in one clients situation who was in fact at one time thrown a curse, but she had done an uncrossing ritual, which cleared up her symptoms. She began having symptoms again, and no matter how many readings I gave her, my cards never could point to anyone giving her the Evil Eye, a curse or any thing of the sorts. It was later that I found out she lived in a house that was nearly 80 years old, had black mold growing in it, and some painters came in to fix it, but instead of replacing the drywall, they painted over it, disturbing the spores, and she began having symptoms where she was chronically ill and had multiple anxiety attacks. No amount of uncrossing, Evil Eye protections, or St. Michael's work helped her. It so happened that one day her brother came to visit her and got sick. When he realized it was from the black mold, he informed her that her painters did a shoddy job on the repair of the drywall and she needed to have it completely torn out and replaced. So she did just that. And she was cured of her "curse".
Now, once you have broken through the barriers and protocols and these circumstances have been discussed and cleared, proceed with caution through the next phases. Just as the last example of the lady who lived in the 80 year old house, people can be very vulnerable and so distraught from the initial experience of being cursed and living a life of hell for so long with the the crossed condition, the line drawn between what is the effect from a curse and what is "just life", can become fuzzy to them. For instance, you have a client who comes to you who is experience a run of bad luck with money situations and jobs. He is convinced that someone hoodooed him or someone in his family is jealous of his past success. You find that his fear is correct by doing a tarot reading for him. So you advise him to start with a spiritual cleansing with some hyssop to cleanse his spirit of any possible sin he might have committed towards someone or has a bad rap sheet in which Spirit is making him pay the piper, then proceed with a series of uncrossing baths for 13 days, burn uncrossing candles, cleanse the house, or whatever the plan designed to cure the client is, etc. Suddenly midway through the 13 days of uncrossing and cleansing, he comes to you and complains that this girl he was trying to hook up with has suddenly stopped returning his text messages, and his 75 year old father just had a heart attack. Now he's questioning whether or not this curse is affecting his life from all angles. OK, so you stop him right there. You tell him, lets not put that thought out there, don't invoke it. Keep focused on the original intent to remove the curse of your money. Life happens at a constant and persistent rate. Keep him positive and moving forward. Let him know that if he brings to the surface these negative thoughts he is back tracking in his work, bringing negative energy to his cleansing work. This man is in a vulnerable state of mind, as you must already know, men are workers and providers, a man who isn't working and being productive, takes a huge blow to the ego because men are conditioned to feel adequate when they can provide and be productive. Now, since he is in a vulnerable state, he's not thinking clearly that this woman he's trying to hook up with is most likely busy and will return his text messages in a day or so, and his 75 year old father is, well, 75 years old, he might have undiagnosed medical issues. No, clearly he's not thinking logical and practical at the moment. He's not "grounded". A hex and the Evil Eye can make you feel out of sorts, irrational, emotional, vulnerable, out of control, and not balanced or grounded. My job is to put things back into perspective for the client. To be their rational mind and help bring them back down to earth, keep them focused. So, cautioned steps, pay attention to the surrounding environment, don't overreact and feed into a vulnerable clients situation. Not every bad experience in our life is a result of being crossed or given the Evil Eye. Recognize what is, and what isn't. Many people can fall victim to their own delusions, fears, and superstitions. Not every bad experience in our life is a result of being crossed, period. If you can find reason in the cause and effect, you will find the real solution to the problem. If you are suddenly from nowhere getting phone calls in regard to your son is being arrested, your husband got fired, or whatever, take a look at why these things have happened, is your son guilty, in the place at the wrong time, and your husband, why did he get fired? People should own up and take responsibility of their actions, magick isn't a cure all for every situation. A few weeks ago I posted a blog on why magickal work is unsuccessful. This goes along with that post, if the solution is to get off your butt and look for an answer to the problem, don't expect some magickal ritual to hand it to you on a platter. Magickal work takes WORK. Work and responsibility on your behalf.

Tips and suggestions for curses:
There are so many ways to handle these cases. I will provide a few suggestions.
First, look back over the many ideas and formulas in other posts on how to do spiritual cleansings and protection. Combine those ideas with uncrossing or Evil Eye removal techniques.

Evil Eye Removal:
  • Egg cleansing baths- bathe in fresh eggs, salt, eucalyptus leaves, and rue
  • Egg rolling and absorbing (Limpia)- Take a fresh egg, write your full name on it, anoint it with an uncrossing or cleansing or holy oil (optional), start at the head and roll it over the face and entire body in a downward direction. Then break the egg into a glass of water that is half full. Observe any signs. (You can message me for reading these for you). If you do not want to read the signs you can break the egg on a tree trunk asking the tree to take that negative energy absorbed from you and release it to be transformed. Another option is to break it over a toilet and flush it.
  • Bathe in a holy water or florida water
  • Use Van Van, Spiritual Cleansing, 13 Herb, or other washes and cleansing herbs in your bath or on candles.
Curse or Jinx Removal:
These are some rough ideas to begin an uncrossing. Any of these elements can be taken and put into a ritual designed to remove a curse. If all else fails, seek out a root worker to help you put together a plan. In some cases, it might be necessary to hire a root worker or healer to do a hands on removal of the curse on you or your house. There are some Catholic Priests still today that make house visits to help clean and bless homes as well. As a good friend always tells folks "Where an image of Jesus dwells, evil can not".
  • First tried and true way is find the trick laid for you and destroy it but if this cannot be done...
  • Begin a series of baths (like 13 herb bath taken for 13 consecutive days) that include spiritual cleansing and some hyssop herb
  •  After baths anoint yourself with protection oil, use an uncrossing candle or protective spirit candle with a petition, a piece of personal item like your hair or nail cutting inside the candle to burn in the house or on an altar
  • Sprinkle the self with holy water
  • Incorporate Psalms such as 15, 29, 34, 37, 40, 88, and 104
  • Candles anointed with uncrossing oils such as Uncrossing, Jinx Killer, or Reversal double action
  • Petition protective spirits and angels such as God, St. Michael the archangel, Jesus, you ancestors, or specialized saints for particular cases
  • Cleanse the house with the same candles, oils, and formulas, or Chinese wash, van van, or a mixture of ammonia, lemons, and uncrossing or cleansing herbs for floor washing regularly
  • Smoke yourself and the house with incense after each bath and floor wash. Use sage, three kings, or an uncrossing incense
  • Avoid accepting foods or items from potential negative evil doers to not be reinfected
If you need assistance, ask a root worker for guidance. A root worker will be able to set up a plan of action to tackle the problem. Once you have put in place this plan, start making plans to keep yourself protected and cleansed on a regular upkeep maintenance. Sometimes the attacker comes back. In those cases, a binding or even a reversal can be done. Binding your opponent will keep them from doing harm again to you. Reversal magick is to reverse the curse back to the perp. These are usually done at the time of uncrossing work simultaneously. Afterwards, I always encourage clients to keep up with protection work. You can read some of my other posts for ideas on protection from rituals, saints work, to worn jewelry and amulets hung in the home.
Good luck!

Hoodoo & Spiritual Waters & Colognes

Spiritual waters and hoodoo waters are toiletry waters, perfumed water, hydrosols, infused herbal waters, and blessed waters. There are as many types as there are uses. Waters can be used to feed spirits, bathe in, use in floor washes, sprinkle altar spaces, sprinkle properties and door ways, feed mojo hands, use on the body, beds, in spell bottles, etc.

Some of my favorites include:
Basil & Rosemary infused water (bring peace and cooperation in family home)
Basil infused water (brings peace)
Chamomile infused water (brings luck in money)
Cinnamon infused water (brings luck in money or love)
Lavender infused water (brings loving, calming conditions)
Lemon infused water (cleaner and freshener)
Lemon Balm infused water (soothing, calming conditions)
Lemongrass infused water (cleaner and brings in luck)
Patchouli infused water (brings love and passion)
Rue infused water (protection)
Rose Hydrosol (brings loving conditions)
Florida Water Cologne (feeds spirits, brings luck, cleans negative energies)
Holy water (cleaner and freshener)
Hoyt's Cologne (brings luck, dresses mojos)
Kananga Water Cologne (cleansing and offering to spirits)
Pompeii Lotion (offering to Ezili)
Bay Rum Cologne (offering to spirits)
Four Thieves Vinegar (cleanser, protector)

To make an infused water you can do this one of three ways the first is to place fresh herbs into a pan of spring water or rain water. Bring to a boil, then simmer 10 minutes, strain, and cool before using. The more herbs you place to simmer in the pan, the stronger the water will be. The second way is to put your fresh herbs into a gallon jug of spring water and refrigerate it for 8-12 hours. The first method I prefer to use as it really brings out the essence of the herb much more strongly then chilling the water. The second way, however, can be used as a tea for drinking if you were adding this to a cleansing, purifying, or luck bringing ritual. The third way is to set the water with herbs in a sunny hot window for two days to naturally steep.

When you make your own waters you can combine fresh herbs for a multitasking water such as the basil and rosemary water. Other options are Patchouli and a little Rose Hydrosol to sprinkle on your bedsheets for attracting a love affair. Get creative with your waters, add them to your routines and magickal work. You can even spritz the room with them. :)

St. Jacques Le Majeur

St. Jacques Le Majeure, vini ak yon nepe, touye dragon sa yo, bwè wonm ou a, viktwa se pou ou.

Today, July 25th, is celebrated as his feast day. St. Jacques is known under other names sometimes as St. James the Greater. He is syncretized to Met Ogou in the Vodou traditions. St. Jacques colors are red, tan, and blue. Serve him some nice dark rum, coffee, red beans and rice, and tobacco cigars. Ask St. Jacques for victory over all matters, wars, quarrels, and enemies.

St. Joseph Working for You

Folks will hear me speak of St. Joseph often. And that's because he is a very important Saint to have around. St. Joseph is what I call the perfect ideal man. He's the loyal husband, protecting father, dependable hard worker, and in my eyes the glue that keeps the family together due to his loyalty, patience, love, and understanding. Over the years I have learned many inner secrets of St. Joseph and how it has reflected in my life. You can call on St. Joseph for many reasons from protecting a child, helping a father in a custody battle, send him to aid a special man in your life, find or sell a home, or to hunt down a job and keep you working. Traditionally, in Catholic tradition he is called on to aid in a peaceful transition in dying. He has two feast days. The first is March 19th for the day of St. Joseph, the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The second is May 1st for St. Joseph the Worker. The month of March and every Wednesday is are sacred to St. Joseph. Some offerings to St. Joseph are glasses of water, plant water collected from a peace lily or other growing lily from the home, fava beans, yellow candles, lilies, workman tools, bread and wine, cakes, cookies, fish dishes and certain traditional Italian dishes such as Minestrone, and zeppoles pastries.

Prayer to St. Joseph the Worker
Composed by Pope St. Pius X
O glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations, to work with gratitude and joy, in a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties, to work above all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thine example, O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my watchword in life and in death. Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph to Obtain a Special Favor
O blessed Saint Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God, we pray and beseech thee to offer to God the Father His divine Son, bathed in blood on the Cross for sinners, and through the thrice-holy Name of Jesus, obtain for us from the Eternal Father the favor we implore. (Name your request.)
Appease the Divine anger so justly inflamed by our crimes, beg of Jesus mercy for thy children. Amid the splendors of eternity, forget not the sorrows of those who suffer, those who pray, those who weep; stay the Almighty arm which smites us, that by thy prayers and those of thy most holy spouse, the Heart of Jesus may be moved to pity and to pardon. Amen.

The following is a ritual to set up St. Joseph in your home and maintain his good grace in your home.

an image, holy card or statue of St. Joseph
prayer or novena to St. Joseph
holy water or Florida Water cologne
kosher salt
holy oil or condition oil for peace, job hunting, etc.
yellow candle (tea light, taper, votive, or vigil novena)
3 fava beans (sometimes called St. Joseph beans or mojo wishing beans)
cut lily flower or potted flower
glass of water
sweet pastries or cakes like Sfinge di San Giuseppe or other sweet pastries
workman hand tool
your petition on paper

Take a cleansing bath in which you add holy water or Florida Water cologne and a pinch of kosher salt, wash downwards. State this prayer
"The Light of God surrounds me.
The Love of God enfolds me.
The Power of God protects me.
The Presence of God watches over me.
The Mind of God guides me.
The Life of God flows through me.
The Laws of God direct me.
The Power of God abides within me.
The Joy of God uplifts me.
The Strength of God renews me.
The Beauty of God inspires me.
Wherever I am, God is!
".

After you have dried and dressed in clean clothes, anoint your head, heart, and feet with holy oil or condition oil to your purpose.

Clean an altar space either on a small working table or floor space in your home or place of business.
Use holy water or Florida Water cologne to clean the area. Use the water to also sprinkle in the door ways back and front to cleanse out any negative air. Place a pinch of kosher salt behind these doors and state
"The Light of God surrounds me.
".

Set up an image or statue of St. Joseph, sprinkle it with the water and anoint it with the holy or condition oil. Take a yellow candle, and inscribe your full name on the candle, dress it with the oil, rubbing towards you. If this is a glass encased vigil novena, scratch your name on top and anoint this with the oil, and the outside of the glass candle with the oil making a sign of the cross. Give a glass of water, set out a cut lily flower or lily plant, any food offerings, and the workers tool on the altar. Make a prayer petition paper written out with your request and sign your name. Anoint the paper with the oil and place under the candle securely in place. Take the 3 fava beans and scratch your initials into each of them and place them in the glass of water. Light the candle and state your prayer to St. Joseph, and then state your request to St. Joseph. Let the candle burn completely out. After a few days when the candle burns out, bury the fava beans at your front door, pour the water over the burial, take the other offerings to the crossroads, candle remains, petition paper, cut flower, food, etc. Leave the image, workman's tool, and potted plant if you used one, on the altar or set away until the next Wednesday in which you will burn another candle, give another glass of water, cut lily, and any other food offering. Refresh each Wednesday. Whenever he grants your petition, give him public thanks by spreading his name to others to find St. Joseph, such as a blog, email signature, newspaper publication, Facebook news feed, etc.

Prayer, Petition, & Name Papers for Hoodoo

Prayers and Petitions are the spoken words of the intent and purpose of the worker and magician. These are stated words either by mouth, thought, or writing. They are expressions in words, symbols, and drawings of the main idea of the work which can be to bring in blessings of love, luck, money, protection, healing, or harm to another. They can be as simple as a prayer written on parchments, brown paper sack, bible pages, candle wax, photo, amulets, stones, or just about anything that you can come up with. When you write out a prayer or petition paper you will use this in your candle burning, place in mojo hands, burn to ash for a powder, sometimes consume the paper, anoint it with oils, powders, or bodily fluids, etc. The options in magickal work when working with papers is limitless. There is no one right way to write these out. I have constructed a few different types of papers to give you an idea of what we are discussing as examples that I personally will use for many types of situations.
Just like creating oils, powders, and mojo hands, use an odd number of lines in your writings such as 3, 5, 7, 9, 13. You can use colored ink to represent your work, although this is not important, this just seems to be something that many new workers experiment with. The type of ink isn't as important either with one particular rule of thumb to keep in mind. Do not use your own blood! We aren't making pacts with the devil here or making blood oaths, folks... Using your own blood is a dangerous act for many solid reasons that I am NOT going to go into in this post, but will say, that using your blood for a petition indefinitely ties you to the work on several levels, making it harder to break the bonds if you ever decide to "undo" your work for whatever reason (believe me or not, some will undo their work, because of a variety of reasons, surely I have discussed it before...). Anyway, NO do not use your own blood in writing petitions. Some folks will use specials inks like dragon's blood ink, bat's blood ink, and dove's blood ink. All of which are sold as commercial inks that do not contain any real blood from animals.
The type of paper you will use depends on what your petition is for. I have named several, but for this instruction I have used brown paper sack as the paper (actually it's a computer generated brown paper, but I recommend NOT printing out your petition, hand write your petition out because it enhances and personalizes the work. These images are just for examples ONLY). Now, make your paper as close to natural as possible by tearing the sides neatly making a square paper about 3x3 or 4x4 at the largest. Some say do not cut the paper sides unless you are doing a cleansing, cut and clear, or other removing work. I always just tear it along the sides regardless of intent. Cutting the paper is a method used in spells like separation spells though, in which the couples names are side by side and you cut the paper in half separating their names as part of the ritual act itself. ANYWAY, Forward. :) This leaves enough room for adding powders, herbs, curios, personal concerns to be folded up inside the paper.
The first shown here is a simple prayer paper that is written as a prayer to God or a spirit that is the wish of the petitioner. Ok, Let me stop here and add something to this. Bible pages. You can have a whole separate bible used for just this purpose, to write your prayers or petitions on the page with a related purpose to your goal. Ok, moving on. :)
Prayer papers are simple and easy to use, you can set this prayer under your vigil light, you can pin it to the wick inside of an oil lamp for a special Saint, or you can use this inside of a specially prepared wax mojo hand for your purpose.

Next, I have constructed a personal petition paper that has the goal written out first an odd number of times (3, 7, or 9 are the numbers I will use). Turn the paper and write out your full name across the petition the same number of times directly on top of the petition words. This is called "covering and crossing". Now the last thing you CAN do, but not everyone does, is write out a short phrase such as "successfulbusinesssuccessfulbusiness" that is the main idea of the intent around the words in a complete circle without lifting the pen for spaces or dotting i's and crossing t's. Connect the last letter of the last word to the first letter of the first word. Then go back to dot i's and cross t's. Additionally, but not mandatory, is to draw symbols in the 4 corners of the petition paper.

Step One: Write out your petition
Step Two: Turn and Cross With Your name

Step Three: Circle with your petition

The second type of paper I have created is a common paper used in domination, controlling, influencing, or other works where two people are involved, your target, target's, or you. In this paper, the one you want to have the upper hand and control of the situation crosses over top of the target. It is constructed just the same as the one above with the options to putting in extra symbols in the 4 corners too. It looks like this.

Step One: Target's name first

Step Two: Turn and cross with your name or who is taking the upper hand

Step Three: Circle with your petition

Next Paper is a simple love petition involving just Names, so I call this a Name paper. It is written similar to the one above, however, there is no written petition around it, instead hearts are drawn or colored in the corners.
Name Paper option

The last one I have made is used for something like a wish granting spell for love, money, success, etc. It's again, written similar to the other ones above, but I have used 3 lines instead of 7 or 9.

Step One: Write three wishes
Step Two: Turn and Cross with Your Name

Step Three: Circle your petition and write any symbols

OK. Once you have your paper written out, you can then fix and dress it with appropriate oils to your work, sprinkle powders or herbs in it, curios, and place any small amount of personal items (strand of hair, nail clip, bodily fluid) on top of the paper and fold towards you for bringing in blessings, or away from you if you are removing something. Turn paper and fold again in the direction you are working with, then turn a third time and fold, always fold in the appropriate direction for the work. Now the paper is put in the place it was designed for (honey jar, mojo hand, beef tongue, bottle spell, box spell, doll or poppet, vigil candle, etc.) Some papers can be burned to ash and cooked into food for the target, in which you will not need to put all the oils, powders, etc. into it. Some papers are burned by fire of the candle to send the prayer into the universal cosmos and heaven. In a beef spell to shut the mouth of the opponent, some workers eat the petition paper that is fixed with hot peppers inside of the beef tongue as part of the ritual.
Once you have your spell worked out, you will know what is the appropriate way to write out your paper and how to use it. There are many ways to write out petitions papers, so get creative like I always encourage. If you make a mistake with the paper, start fresh. If you want a perfect circle or perfect square, use a ruler or jar lid to lightly pencil it on the paper first before you begin. Once you start using papers in your work, you will catch on quick and find new ways to construct them.

Proper Disposal of Ritual Remains

The magick begins with the first thought of "doing the work". Not so obvious to the untrained magician or spell caster... And while this is so, so is the fact that new workers do not anticipate the finishing and completion of their ritual. Many times, when new customers come to me for advice on how to go about crafting a spell, they seem to only focus on the part of the ritual that entails lighting and working candles, mojo hands, prayers, deploying powders and oils, etc. They fail to realize the full dynamics of magickal work, it's full incorporation into our lives from start to finish. With many of these new folks, if I do not specifically tell them what to do with their remains or left overs of the ritual, the question never rises. But weeks later I get a call or email asking what to do with the left over items. I have known some to come to me for advice again wanting to repeat a spell and that they wish to incorporate old remains they saved wrapped up from the previous spell. While this CAN be a great idea in some situations that have required you to keep working on the spell such as a Poppet Doll spell, where you have worked on the Doll, placed it under your bed, and come back to work on it again a month later, as you can see, this is not exactly a ritual that has ended, but yet is still in process being worked on, this is not what we mean by ritual remains disposal. If you had done a spell for bringing your lover back and you were suppose to bury the remains of the wax in the front yard, but saved it sitting on your altar and decided to redo the spell, use some of the oils left over, I would have to stop you there. I would tell you that you should bury the wax from the first ritual by your door FIRST before starting a new ritual. Some rituals are to be completed from start to finish which would mean to properly dispose of ritual remains. Oils in the bottle, powders in the baggies, incense in the baggies can be saved OR disposed of with the wax and curio remains from the ritual. This is optional. What is NOT optional is if a ritual requires you to dispose of the wax burning, papers, etc. by burying, carry to crossroads, running water, etc. This completes your ritual. It is just as much as part of the ACT OF DOING THE WORK. Do not dismiss this task. If it's an ongoing process where you are going to be continuing to work on a honey jar, reuse a glass vigil jar, a mojo hand, or poppets, then they are placed in a safe place if not an altar and this would be the time that they are not disposed of. All other remains are properly disposed of to complete your work. I once had a male client who came to me asking me to do something FAST because his work wasn't working as fast as when I had done spells for him in the past. So, I sat him down, asked him to explain to me what he had done. Every step of the ritual followed exact, was perfect, until he got to the part that he had taken the remains and put them in a box to be buried but hadn't had the time to bury it by his front door. Four weeks ago... I told him, if I had been anyone else, he probably would have just spent more money out of pocket for a new spell or a spell worker to do the job for him, however, he was lucky I was such a nice person to let him know he's not done with the work, he's left it open ended because he didn't follow the last of the directions I originally gave him: bury the remains by the front door. Low and behold, after he did the burial, his request was granted... Ok, so point gotten right? GREAT! So let's talk about the all the different places you would dispose of ritual remains. We will start simple here.

Prayers recited according to the work and direction of the disposal vary. Research appropriate Bible Psalms or use "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost", along with a statement of intent and thank you. Use common sense and your feelings from the heart when you dispose of these remain.
Examples: To the spirit of the crossroads take three pennies or coins to pay for disposal and state your thanks.
To the spirit of the grave take three silver coins and whiskey/rum to pay and state your request and thanks.
To the rising or setting sun use an appropriate prayer or psalm
To the running water use an appropriate prayer or psalm

Directional Placements:

East- To bring in blessings
West- To remove something

Front Yard- To bring in blessings of all sorts (money, luck, love, success, protection)
Back Yard- To tie someone or something down

Running Water-To remove or send someone or something away from you
In a Tree- Used to hold something in place, or hide a spell on a target
Fire- Used to remove evil/negative, or send prayers to heaven, burn petition papers to be mixed with dusts and powders used in further workings
Crossroads- Universal placement OR to change a path OR to open the road
Graveyard- To harm or cause illness on someone OR to use a specific spirit to hold someone in place
Freezer- To freeze a person or situation to a halt
Food- To work on the target specifically
Foot tracks- To work on a target specifically

Targets Yard or Under Their Doorstep- Buried. Used for the targets to walk over such as break up, move out, separate, drive out
Your Own Doorstep- Buried. Used for protection, bring in blessings of all sorts (money, luck, love, success, protection)

In Pots-Buried. An alternative to burying in the yard
Under Mattress/Bed- Used to bring something or someone close to you, protect you, or work on a specific target

Types of Remains:

Baths and Floor Wash-
  • Bring In Blessings- Used water thrown in the front yard facing the east at rising sun OR taken to the crossroads
  • Remove Negative, Curses, Evil- Used water thrown in the west to setting sun (NOT IN YOUR OWN BACK YARD) OR taken to the crossroads
Candle Wax/spells remains-
  • Glass Vigil Candles- Crossroads is the universal place, can be recycled for same purpose
  • Wax from spells-Follow the above outlines according to your circumstance
  1. If you are bringing in love, new love, old lover, money, success, protection bury by front door, or in a pot by front door, or crossroads
  2. If you are removing something take it and throw it in running water, crossroads, or bury it in the west off of your property
  3. If you are tying someone (a cheating, straying spouse) or something (obtained blessing of success) down so the current situation doesn't move forward bury it in backyard. Example, your spouse is back home, or your current situation at work is pleasant and successful but threatened so you tie down your current pleasant situation at work
  4. If you are working on an enemy or target you are getting rid of or breaking up, bury the remains under their doorstep or on their property in the earth or a tree hollow.
 Mojo Bags/Hands-
  • Place on your person, under your mattress, in your undergarments drawer, or by your front door all out of sight
Poppet/Hoodoo Dolls-
  • Love dolls, healing dolls, protection dolls keep them on an altar, or under the bed for future use
  • Cursing, harming, coercive works are either disposed of in running water, crossroads, graveyard, targets yard, put in freezer, etc.
Bottle Spells-
  • For bottles used to harm or break up, bury in targets yard, take to crossroads, throw in running water, or bury in graveyard
  • For bottles used for love work, disposal can be done by burying in the east, front yard, or tied down in back yard, or taken to crossroads
Powders, Oils, Petition Papers-
  • When working these things singularly there are many ways to deploy them. If I was going to hot foot someone with only powders, I could use them in the targets foot tracks in the dirt. The same way you can work love work using their shoes or laundry rinse with love oils or baths.
  • Petition papers can be burned into ash by fire flame of the petitioning candle and used in powders to deploy, or cooked into the targets food to be eaten, placed in jar spells, crossroads, running water, etc.

As you can see the list is not exhausted, there are many ways and places to dispose of ritual remains. The nature of Conjure work is symbolic to nature itself. Many families and workers have different places to dispose of remains, the actual practices and prayers can vary because of teachings from families.Use what you know, what you have been taught, and use your creative skills to discover new places to dispose of your ritual remains, do not just throw them in the trash! This would be discrediting your own hard work. There is a proper place for everything from start to finish! Respect the work and you will be successful in your work.

Love and Light~

Seeker of Knowledge and Understanding

Of course I know I do not need to answer to a human soul my purpose in life, but this keeps coming to my attention so, as much as I am against entertaining the little minds, here we go, just to get this out in the open in case there is any other questions and confusions.

An Occultist is a person who studies the Occult, from the scientific to the mystical points of all occult forms of spirituality and religions. I am an Occultist.

Mysticism is defined = "The term ‘mysticism,’ comes from the Greek μυω, meaning “to conceal.” In the Hellenistic world, ‘mystical’ referred to “secret” religious rituals. In early Christianity the term came to refer to “hidden” allegorical interpretations of Scriptures and to hidden presences, such as that of Jesus at the Eucharist. Only later did the term begin to denote “mystical theology,” that included direct experience of the divine (See Bouyer, 1981). Typically, mystics, theistic or not, see their mystical experience as part of a larger undertaking aimed at human transformation (See, for example, Teresa of Avila, Life, Chapter 19) and not as the terminus of their efforts. Thus, in general, ‘mysticism’ would best be thought of as a constellation of distinctive practices, discourses, texts, institutions, traditions, and experiences aimed at human transformation, variously defined in different traditions. Under the influence of William James' The Varieties of Religious Experience, heavily centered on people's conversion experiences, most philosophers' interest in mysticism has been in distinctive, allegedly knowledge-granting “mystical experiences.” Philosophers have focused on such topics as the classification of mystical experiences, their nature in different religions and mystical traditions, to what extent mystical experiences are conditioned by a mystic's language and culture, and whether mystical experiences furnish evidence for the truth of their contents. Some philosophers have begun to question the emphasis on experience in favor of examining the entire mystical complex (See Jantzen, 1994 and 1995, and section 9 below, and Turner, 1996). Since this article pertains to mysticism and philosophy, it will concentrate chiefly on topics philosophers have discussed concerning mystical experience."~ The rest can catch you up here: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/mysticism/

Now, I also study mysticism. Occult and mystic mysteries can include Christianity branches of all lineages to African and Asian religions and everything in between.
I am a Spiritual person, always have been since I can remember at the age of around 11 or 12. For the occultist mind, there is no knowledge out there that is untouchable. The mysteries in the world are available to us all at any point in our life. IS this wrong to be a seeker of knowledge and understanding? No. For the ones who are shut off and led as sheep with blind faith, yes. That is too bad for them, to not be able to be a free thinker, and have a philosophical way of thinking about the world and the self. To seek knowledge and understanding and use what nature gave us, a brain, and the ability to utilize and connect with all creatures and cultures of the world; how is this anything BUT right and natural?  Every culture has their own understanding and secrets of the world defined. In essence, it is but all the same answer to the mysteries of the universe and the mysteries of the human soul. What is different are the practices, the beliefs vary slightly, but in essence, they have the same message. The universe is but a melting pot of cultures, not one is better than the other, to think otherwise is to be a righteous narcissistic being. This is not me, anyone who knows me and has known me, knows what I am, a compassionate, loving, protecting soul. Nothing more, nothing less. I do what is necessary to fulfill these duties of mine, to love and to protect those dear to me. To teach the same to all my clients who come to me as well. I don't preach that I know everything nor am I a guru. Of course not, in life we learn till our Death. I don't deny that I know my stuff well, and I understand the human soul and mind more than majority of those in the human race WHO ARE ASLEEP. Anyone can work hard like I have to fine tune these skills of "understanding". I can tell you that I was taught very well from my family to pay close attention to what my gut instinct says about someone when I meet them. People are easy to figure out, they repeat the same patterns that most people do that I have met in previous times. People are predictable when you have studied psychology and philosophy as long as I have. It was always my interest as a young teenager to study these things that make a person tick, what drives the human soul, the human ego, and their actions. I have met and counseled many people in life to be free from what bonds their souls. And I have raised three great children to pay attention to what they feel, believe what they feel, trust their instincts, don't follow, but lead, be an individual, think and know for themselves what is real, who is loyal, who is faithful, who loves them unconditionally, who raises them up, not brings them down, these are the things in life that are important. They will each find one day their purpose in life, and they will have my support 100%, as long as they are happy individuals, not abusive, uphold their morals to treating everyone the best they can. I trust that they will. I will not belittle my children, tell them not to be happy, or abandon their emotional needs like some parents have done. The damage can not be undone for many abused children and adults, especially when the abuse continues into adulthood. Like I have said before, my success in life is my proof. I have nothing to hide, nothing to fear, I have done no wrong. I only wish for others to leave people in life to live and express how they need to. We are free to make our choices in life, how we choose fit, whether it is our lifestyle, our beliefs, our actions, it's our choice, we are free. There will always be others who are afraid of the truth and feel threatened by your happiness and content that they will try to turn the coin on you and bring you down. Take the opportunity to rise above their pitiful attempts.

Oil Lamps

Oil Lamps used in Hoodoo work, to replace "candle magic". I prefer when working with clients to use lamps, unless working a specific work that calls for "figure" candles. The oil lamps can have added herbs, curios, and special oils in them, and add your photos and prayer papers into the oil as well. Sometimes I have a special lamp set for a certain spirit or saint that I am working with. Oil lamps are an inexpensive alternative to using figure candles as well. The can be colored lamps but these are more expensive, and if you are the type of worker that likes to use color association in your work, you can color the oils used in the lamp with natural dyes from the herbs you are working in your case. For instance, alkanet root will instantly change your oil to a red color, and sassafras root will change the oil to a yellowy orange color, eucalyptus will change it to an orange color, roses when activated will turn it pinkish, etc. If you can't spend the time and energy in using natural plants to dye them, you can melt down a little candle wax coloring to add to it, using food coloring if it's water based will not mix well, but the little jars of Wilton product food color is an oil base and works a little easier, but again more expensive and time consuming to track them down sometimes, depending on your area.

A Movie with Hoodoo

Hoodoo in the U.S. is said to be African American folklore or folk magick although folk magic was and is clearly practiced by blacks and whites in America, learned through their ancestors, grannies, mommas, etc. Folk magic is in all cultures, this must be understood clearly here. In what is being called Hoodoo in the U.S., it encompasses Protestant Christian influences with the use of prayers to God, use of the bible and the Psalms of the bible. It also incorporates the spiritual uses of Catholic Saints and imagery. It draws from Native American traditions such as the use of local folklore of the Natives, plant herbs and their roots, and the magical use of prayer bags or medicine bags, or dolls, all the same that other traditions were also doing, the whites and blacks in Americas of other countries, African, English, Scottish, French, the list goes on. In American history, we learned that the Native Americans taught the white folks here how to use local herbs and roots to cure and heal. We know from other practices in European countries, Scottish, Irish, German, etc. that folktales and folklore (read some original Grimm Tales) also had their own skills in magical forms which were brought here by our ancestors as well. African slaves working on the plantations alongside Native American and white slaves, also brought their traditions of working natural remedies and cures to a variety of physical ails and such. Dolls and Poppets in hoodoo can be seen as influenced by Africans, Witch's, Native's, and all over the world really, when you look into other folklore in parts of Asia or the Mediterranean. In general, you can find folk magic AND hoodoo across the world, there are so many different practices in hoodoo, that one cannot say that one area of hoodoo is strictly one particular influence, because these traditions are each similar in practices like the wanga packets or dolls used in Vodou and the medicine bag used in Native American tradition or the corn dolls of witch's, or the hand made dolls by witch's in the 1600's,  (tiresome list of evidence) each made and used differently, it still carries it's influence to what had become hoodoo in the US. The term hoodoo has so much debate of its origin that I won't even go into discussion at all about it, but it varies from mispronunciation of "voodoo", to an old Scottish term used in reference to meaning someone was cursed and outcast. A quick look at the word hoodoo in the dictionaries will give you about 3 or 4 definitions of the word and uses from the rock formations in the Badlands, to a curse thrown on an enemy or to heal an unknown sickness. I know I have read at least 6 different origins over the last few years. But I am not here to give you a history lesson, I encourage you to research it thoroughly on your own from researching cultures here to Greece, honestly... However, now the meaning is to refer to a trick, mojo, conjure, root work, magical act, to cure of a magical illness, and a variety of other terms. It isn't a new age practice, nor is it witchcraft, Wicca, Vodou, etc. In fact, I have clients who tell me that they want to buy products from me but they aren't doing a "spell" because "spells are witchcraft, and the bible says witchcraft is evil". This seems to be true for me especially with clients who were raised with a very superstitious family, but practiced folklore traditions in their homes. And recently I have noticed that other co-workers are speaking up about this as well. It makes sense to me, since the way I learned of spells was also a common witch's practice, hence why most of my writings I stick to terminology "working", "work", "spiritual" or in broader terms sometimes I say "magical work" (magic can throw them off as well, as meaning evil practices). Either way, it's not to offend or confuse others, but the newcomers to hoodoo need the transition of terminology or another explanation to start getting their minds moving in this direction to proper understanding of what traditional hoodoo is. So, onward, this can be simple remedies such as hanging a horseshoe upwards over the door to keep bad luck out away from the house, or throwing down beans in a new house for prosperity, setting up St. Joseph to protect the house, to washing your floors, laundry, etc. with borax to clean out and drive away negative energies and spirits. This is a very old tradition, said to have originally practiced in the southern states from southern California to up the east coast. The types of ingredients used in folk magic may have varied as well from area to area and family to family, due to availability of the ingredients or curios. Louisiana family traditions differed than the Carolina families when it came to how to keep a man faithful, or protect your loved ones, or to cure a fever with roots.  I don't think I have heard of alligators being used in TN folk traditions, maybe so, but in Mississippi and Louisiana the gator claw and gator tooth is popular in money and gambling mojos. I have given examples of the different mix of cultural influences in traditional African American folk magic on my website, such as the mojo bag possibly being influenced by medicine bags of the Native Americans and the wanga packets of the African magickal traditions. There is no denying that hoodoo is a mix of cultures in old Amercia, that were from Africans, Native Americans, and different European folklore and religions such as traditional witch's and Christians. In hoodoo, a traditional worker will use the bible as a main component to work a trick, mojo, and so forth. Roots and herbs are used to heal, protect, bring blessings, and so on. Hoodoo encompasses such a large array of cultural practices there is not just one way only, to bring love, bring money, or uncross someone. Hoodoo is not Vodou, it's not a religion, many times a new customer will come to me ask me to teach them a "voodoo spell". I don't know any, but I can teach you a "hoodoo trick", lol. I try to make this clear that Voodoo is a term popular in New Orleans magickal folklore traditions, and Vodou is a religious practice in Haiti and African countries. In fact, I look at Vodou as a broad term to define the scope of many Vodou branches in certain parts of the world from Mexico, South America, Caribbean, and Africa. But to the real point here of the post, as I really didn't mean to ramble THIS much today... lol.
One of my favorite movies is called Eve's Bayou. It was made in 1997 but set in the 60's in Louisiana. Samual L. Jackson is in this movie. Eve's aunt is a hoodoo woman, Eve is a young girl struggling with just coming of age. There are some other movies that have some hoodoo in it or hoodoo references in it, especially if you watch the old classic movies who focus on the eras of 40's to 60's. I love classic movies, a huge retro buff as any of my friends will tell you my obsession with especially the 50's era of house decor and vintage clothing, vintage movies, vintage books, music, anything vintage, really. Some movies like The Skeleton Key or Serpent and the Rainbow, make hoodoo and Vodou scarey, they are the classic Hollywood tearing down of these cultures, both decent movies, but much incorrect information of course. That's the other reason I like Eve's Bayou so much the better, it has that hint of hoodoo in the culture in the background, it's not the theme of the movie, so it sets the aura better that was such an integrated part of the culture of older times. Check it out, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Dust and Dirt

When you create a mojo or work a spell in hoodoo, you can work with not only herbs but also dust and dirt from various places. I often will advise a client to collect dirt from a nearby chapel or church when working a love working, or from the crossroads, a person's yard or driveway, a court house, bank, or other location. I do not give advise to work with graveyard dirt unless I am speaking with an experienced worker of the magical arts.

Dirt from a graveyard is used for various workings such as domination, cursing, or love work. Can you use dirt from ANY grave? No. Absolutely not. In fact, I don't usually even advise clients to use graveyard dirt unless they know how and what they are working with. Occasionally someone will come to me say I have dirt from so and so how can I use it in a spell. If it's from a place other than a cemetery, I can give them instructions on how to use it. If they say they have cemetery dirt, that's a whole other jar of pickles right there! First, to work with graveyard dirt, true graveyard dirt, understand that you are working with the spirit of that grave. Do you know the spirit of that grave, have you properly bought the dirt with coins or whiskey or rum? Please don't go to any grave or cemetery and start buying dirt if you are inexperienced with working hoodoo or magick! I have three cemetery's here nearby within a mile from my house of 10 years. I have spent many days there having a picnic and visiting the graves of the forgotten families there. I bring flowers, clean up around the headstones, or go out after a big storm to straighten up the flowers fallen over. Showing respect in a cemetery is a good way to finding and working with a spirit. I just don't believe that any spirit should be used for your satisfaction. Spirits need to be taken with caution and respect. I respect the dead. I work with ancestors, as ancestor worship is a major component of my religious tradition. I honor the dead regularly in my practices. I am not trying to discourage folks from working with the spirits of the dead, however, trying to lay out some guidelines for the practitioner who wishes to work with the spirit of the dead. The graveyard dirt can be very powerful, but use with serious caution. Giving respects, and paying properly for the dirt or dust from the headstone should be very high on your list of learning to work with graveyard dirt. It's best to work with your own ancestors graves. This way, your spirit knows you, you have already a relationship with them, and your ancestors are going to work for you very well, to keep you happy, protect you, and bring the goals you have to manifestation.
Crossroads dirt can be used in spells like needing to change the luck or direction of a circumstance. It can be used in road opening work as well. With the crossroads, it is an easier method of collecting than graveyard dirt! It's use is probably the most diverse. You can use it to cross someone up, to remove energies or a person from your life, use it in love work to change the direction that the relationship is headed, open new opportunities at the workplace, use as a general location to disperse energies into the universe. Pay the crossroads with three coins, or three pennies, or even some rum. There are times when I go through a crossroads in my car, I give three pennies to the spirit of the crossroads to just to give a thanks for keeping the roads open and clear and opportunities coming in my life or helping me with a big decision I have had to make in my life.
Bank dirt: this is a good one to use if you need a loan from a bank, or you want to do prosperity work, and be sure you are saving your money, making it grow.
Dirt from a church or chapel can be used in love work when you are working on a spouse or your marriage in general. It can be used to symbolize the house of the holy father to shield and guide you or to answer your prayers in any type of circumstances. Believe it or not about 95% of my customers and clients are christian, from all sorts of traditions, Catholic, Pentecostal, Baptist, and Jewish. I have had a small percentage of magickal folk that were Hindu. These folks still practice their beliefs, still believe in God, and Jesus, still pray from the bible. A majority of them even attend the church. Hoodoo isn't wiccan, witchcraft, ceremonial magick, or any of the sorts, it's old folklore from family traditions and local area traditions will have their own methods that get shared. But back on topic, these same practitioners and clients use their local church's dirt in their practices.
Court house dirt is used in cases where you seek justice in a matter or dealing with the court system. Pretty self explanatory...
A person, or more like, a target's driveway or yard is used in a way that you would collect the targets foot print in the dirt to use in a spell to drive them way for instance like hot footing the person out of your life.

There are many other places to collect dirt from, the key is to use your logic and common sense, the location of the dirt is symbolic, but also brings that spirit of that symbol to your work to aid it in manifesting your goal.

What is real and what is false

Oh for peet's sake. Just because you didn't see it or witness it or live it personally, doesn't mean it didn't happen. However, you can choose to live in a box if you'd like, but when people experience real life, hard times, and other life altering moments, these are their experiences in which we have no say over what they are, who they have become, nor it does not give you the right to impede your opinions of their life onto them or any others. Some people choose to live in a box, it's safe for them. It is too painful for them to see the truth nor admit to the truth. The moment someone speaks of the truth, they whip out their firing guns to prove what? That the truth should be kept bottled up because it's painful to hear and acknowledge?
Some people are fighting a battle where there will never be a winning side. What is done is done, the past can't be changed, it's time to move forward, let people heal. To keep wallowing in the past, it solves nothing. You will never heal. For all the pain that that little person inside suffered, they deserve peace and quiet, not some ignorant rambling of what they think happened to that person. You can very well live in the same household and one child experience abuse while the other doesn't. I have seen it, I have heard of it, not just by this one person, but by several. That's what makes a family secret a secret. You might have gotten glimpses of some shady stuff going on, but you can't dismiss it when not just one but several people speak up about it in that family. What so now, all of them are liars or are they a family on the opposite end of the delusion from where you sit? Hmmm... Now let's think logic here. Go to school, or do some online research of abuse in families, and then come back and argue with me about what real knowledge you learned. Abuse in families are very deep, they run through layers of the psychological, physical, emotional, and mental planes. For every action you take, you don't realize how much you show your crazy side to the world. What real justification do you actually have in the taking the steps to doing some of the outlandish obsessive behaviors you have done and probably will continue to do? None, absolutely none.

Cleanliness is Godliness

Cleanliness. The first thing I do when I wake up, is clean, the last thing I do when I shut out the lights is clean. I frequently joke about having OCD, or germaphobia, but truth be told, smells dictate my moods the moment I walk in my house. I remember my grandmother was sensitive to smells, and well, I am too... It can be frustrating. I have to keep a clean house, sure with daily living it gets cluttered, but the end of the day, things have a place and an order. I feel heavy energy weighing on my back if the house is out of order and the floors haven't been swept daily. Man, if I know someone is coming over, I make sure my tables are clean, the seats for them to sit on are clean and the house smells fresh and welcoming. That's just how I am, I want things beautiful and fresh, and my guests in my home deserve the same. A dirty house, makes my mood shift into big attitude and frustration... lol. We have hardwood floors and tile floors, because carpet keeps in smells, dirt, dust, and allergens. None of which go over well with myself or my husband who is allergic to just about anything that flies through the air! lol. Well, for me as a root worker, my shop is cleaned and straightened daily, my altars are always looked over three times a day if not more if I am real active that day with working for clients. I have wrote on this before, and I will say it time and time again, cleaning and clearing regularly your work spaces, under and on top is important. I have seen some work spaces that are beautiful, but the areas around the spaces are so un-kept that if it were MY place, my mind, spirit would be affected and joggled, unfocused, because of the background distractions! LORDY! I mean seriously, think about it, think about the energies kept around in old piled up areas of your space. Everything has energy, some of that energy is invading, leaks out to other areas of the room, including the smells! I watched a video on youtube one time, it was a video on how to cleanse a vigil novena and their work space was a great presentation, but I will tell you, my eyes were drawn to the background piles of clothes, books, and just stuff, unidentifiable stuff! I say to you, please, for the love of cleanliness, clean your shit up! I would be absolutely horrified to know and see that if someone was doing work for me, which on occasion, I actually do go to other workers for personal things, that I need help with cause well, sometimes a human can't handle everything, we have limits you know, and if I walked into a house where it is un-kept, I would really begin to wonder, if that worker was able to keep their work organized and clean, when they don't keep a simple house hold chore up. Hate me if you want on this, but I am getting older, and I have three children, 18, 16, and 6. Every one of them have chores, and they know if Mama comes in and the floor hasn't been swept and their stuff cleaned up, they are going to get the look, and they might even get a computer pulled out of the wall for the day. :) Oh I can hear someone in the kitchen right now, doing the dishes, ah, my children can be sooo well behaved. :) No adult alive can say my kids are not irresponsible or misbehaved. I say that is because they are scared of their mama. :D I was raised in a clean home, my grandmother lived with us, she did most of the chores while my mother worked nights (mom cleaned too, but grandmother was always cleaning, lol). My grandmother had always kept the kitchen clean, and oh no don't even think about dirtying up a dish. When she cooked, she cleaned right behind herself, something that I learned to do as well. The last thing I want to do after I eat dinner, is clean! So I clean right as I am done cooking in a dish. Point being though, is when you "clean house" and I mean spiritually, make sure you clean your space, your home, your businesses, all of it! Phew load off my mind... lol.

Here's a quick recipe I just told my sister the other night that she needed to do.
A capfull of Ammonia
Splash of Salt (any kind is fine, but epsom and kosher are my favs)
Sprigs of Basil
some florida water (i gave her a big bottle last time I was in KY)
put them in your hot bath
wash downwards
Pray to God for a clean, peaceful, and re-energized spirit
Step out, air dry and dress in lighter colored clothes.

There are many ways to clean house and clean the spirit.
I know I have put some recipes out there, here's a few more though.
I like to work with basic ingredients, and lighter numbers, to keep the work simple. Taking on new ideas, hustle and bustle of life, sometimes it's time to get back to the tested and tried, never wavering basics.
For the house: In hot water bucket and mop
1.Ammonia
Salt
Bluing (laundry bluing)

2.Rain water
Lemons
Ammonia

3. Borax
  Salt
  Eggs

For baths:
1. Bluing (laundry bluing)
Salt
Rain water

2. Eggs
Salt
Basil

3. Ammonia
Salt
Basil

Of course any time you bath for cleansing, wash downwards, use a prayer, and visualize a clean and pure spirit. These can be done at sundown, and the water you saved, throw to the west setting sun.

Mop water throw in the west at the setting sun as well. :)

Seeing results of your work? Why the hell not?

So, here you have this great work that you have decided to work on with a little magick. It's been a month and nothing, maybe just a little movement, but possibly not enough to actually cause any real changes in your situation. So, the question arises, as it often does, "Why am I not seeing any results? How do I make it go faster? What am I doing wrong?". Well, for starters, after a month of work, take a step back, reevaluate what work is being done and what reactions are you seeing from your target? Is he or she resisting the hot energy applied to them? Some people will feel new influences or be given signs from the universe as a result of your work being done to them, but yet, that will scare them into resisting, running, hiding, or acting out in negative ways. Ever have a spell go horribly wrong and back fire on your ass? You do a little love me work, then the next thing you know he stops returning your texts or phone calls. Most likely he is hit with these rush of new ideas and feelings out of nowhere, and tuck tails and hides. Not always the case, but it does happen. Are you doing anything wrong? Probably not, except possibly not paying attention to the signs because you are too busy looking for the exact reaction you want. Could that reaction you are lusting after be a little too unrealistic? Actually, yes, because sometimes we obsess over a certain result that we will not be able to achieve for particular reasons, such as, having a man that is incapable of love for whatever reason within him or maybe you have dealt with the crazy situation for so long that you are so fed up and ready for a change in his behavior, but again can your work be 100 % successful, is he capable of love and giving himself entirely to you? You can influence him, bring him closer, however the root of the problem needs to be eliminated or solved before having any real life long changes in his feelings towards you. We can't change personalities, but we can influence behavior changes, thoughts, and the like. We can create moments of contact with the energies if all the conditions are just ripe and set up correctly. For instance, if you need a job, and you have been applying to jobs with no luck in getting a phone call for an interview, you start up your lights and spell work, suddenly you have interviewed with 5 companies and yet there is only 1 company that is just perfect for you. What did you notice about the interviewer or the conditions around the company that parallel your life right at this moment? Hon into that 1 company, not letting the others slide by though, and work on that one company to get that second interview, sweeten up the interviewer with honey on a inscribed candle.
Once you have decided that the effort is worth it, set boundaries and limits, and a clear goal, however be slightly flexible for new obstacles that weren't visible before that could come up and have to be dealt with. Once you have made the commitment to do the work, set yourself a reasonable timeline, how long will you keep up work on him and wait for results? Also, take into consideration, that it is possible that the only time you see a different person in him is when you work on him. If he is only giving and loving and cooperative when you do sweetening on him, but he stops being a loving man towards you, and pulls back away after you discontinue your magickal work on him, that's a clear indicator that you have to make the choice, is it worth it, do I keep working on him every so often or do I toss the chips in and fold? Again, not always the case, and I know clients hate hearing me say it, but it's truer than true, sometimes the only time you will get a rise out that man is when you are working the mojo over on him. I think about the stories of Voodoo Priestess Marie Laveuax who had the same female client coming to her for over 10 years, every so often to redo a mojo on her man. Never did she figure out that the only time she got a response out of that man is when Marie Laveuax was working a mojo on him. Sometimes that's all a person can see is the top surface, the magick being done and that it will bring results, but they don't see that the only results they see only come when they do a spell. This is what attracts the inexperienced magician to working spell work, time and time again, hiring worker after worker to work on the man, and then wonder why the spells stop working, or don't work at all. It's not that the workers are not good workers, it may very well be, that he is resisting, and when you don't do follow up work that might be necessary, you stop seeing results. Love work is the hardest work to achieve sometimes. Can you make it go faster? Yes and No. If the spell work is going to work at all, the best thing to do is find out what works best on the situation. Once you hit the spot, turn up the heat, by either working it daily, ask a spirit or saint to help you out, or apply some special oils and herbs to help speed up the work. Stimulating herbs like cinnamon and ginger are great for this. So is fast luck oil and St. Expedite.
A question I get from almost every customer: When will I see results? Well, that depends on so many things. A: Is your target resisting the pulls, tugs, and influences.
B: How many obstacles are you fighting through and will you see new obstacles arise.
C: Are you impatient and demanding a make up with the ex you are trying to reconcile with or are you willing to take the necessary steps to making some changes to being less suspicious, neurotic, controlling, and all the other crazy mad woman behaviors that led you to the break up in the first place (harsh I know... lol)
D: Who else is involved in the situation, busy bodies, gossipers, jealousy, in laws, ex's, etc. etc.
E: Who knows about your spell work you are planning? This should be kept private, because even the best of friends can interfere with your mojo due to jealousy or doubt.
F: Are you lusting after a result so much that you are ignoring the signs, causing you to confuse yourself and the spirits by changing directions in the spell or adding unnecessary things to a spell in progress? When you lust a result, you are no longer focused on how you are getting there, which can not be controlled. I can drive my car from point A to B, safely, but I can not control how others drive on the road. I can pay attention to my surroundings and to the best of my ability avoid idiot drivers and possible accidents.
Should any of these things become a problem, it's one more step to take care of, which would delay the result or block it all together. So you see the multilayers of existence in magick and the universe? The more people involved in your work, the more to deal with. Magick and spell work is much deeper than working candles, if you read my blog on what magick is, you will see what I am referring to. :D

Just art and more art to pass the time...

These past few weeks I have been working my little fingers to the bone with my crafting and painting skills. I set up Izzy's (my 6 year old) new easel in her room last week, and reclaimed my easel along with my paints and brushes. However, since I dedicated myself to creating some spirit art, I have fallen a few days behind on any orders for new art pieces for the spirits. This sexy piece you see here was created special order for a customer over the past week. They may look simple, but working that energy isn't always simple. ;) It is complete though, and has gone out as of today, and boy is someone ever so lucky to be blessed with this gift. It sure is hard to let go of some things I make though. I suppose that would be all in vain though if I kept my own pieces, right? Why not share the love... That feels oh the so much better in my opinion. I rarely keep my own art and artwork, but I sure do like to collect others works. My entire entry way is filling up with collected art of others, a few pieces I have made myself, more like the frame work for the others art though. If I could spend my time hunting, gathering, bringing home art, well, actually, we would have to move into a bigger house. I spent many days in my childhood either drawing or writing poetry. In my later teen to young adult years, I shot a lot of photography and manipulated photos in photoshop, spent hours and hours, building websites just for my photos. Occasionally I picked up the pencil or paint, but photography was the new thing. About 7 years ago, I quit that hobby, and picked up the brushes again, and haven't put them down since. I can literally spend 12 hours with my hands in paint or pencils, charcoals, and glitter, glue, feathers, fabrics. My two favorite places to be? Either in a craft store or a book store. I have crafts and fabrics, glitter, and all sorts of things coming out my ears. Neatly stored and in creative types of containers, hidden away in the botanica. BUT the past three weeks, walking into my living room, there sits a huge pile organized (because I have this streak of OCD going on) by sequins, glitter, paints by size, brushes, stick on stuff, jewels, gems, hearts, bones, etc. etc. etc... right in the middle of the floor. Do I wish to put it all away? Well, as my kids will tell you, I need to have my house picked up and decluttered every two hours from them dropping this, dragging in that, but my art stuff has become like this colorful spectacular center piece, a real eye catcher, in a good way... Well at least to me. :) Makes me all warm and happy!

Subconsciously Undoing Your Work/Back Peddling

I can not stress it enough: When you are doing magickal work, spell work, invocations, or spirit work, wait for it, wait for the spirits to do their job.
When I take a new case, I try to warn the client that obsession and worry will interfere with a job well done. Obsession and worry lead to creating more of a mess to clean up. Then you get the "expecting a certain result at a certain moment" followed by "why isn't my spell working" and "my spell is not working fast enough" or "I need to add more or less candles to the work", until you have spiraled out of mindless control, completely dismissing and disrespecting your original work in the first place and possibly undoing all the hard work you put into your spell. Sigh... Ok, so let's stop, breathe deeply, close our eyes, and think about what you were warned, what the cards told you, and what your root worker told you. Let me use cooking as an analogy here for a moment. You have your recipe, the ingredients, and you put them together to cook a nice meal for yourself and friends or family. Let's say you are cooking a rice dish. My rice cooker takes 25 minutes from start to finish. If I turn the cooker off before 25 minutes, the rice comes out uncooked. I have no choice but to wait for the rice to become fully cooked and the rice cooker to shut off. If I open the lid of the cooker before it's ready, it creates a leaky mess in which I have to clean up under and around, and down the sides of the cooker. All of this fidgety, impatient "is it done yet" doesn't make the cooker cook any faster, it only makes me more anxious waiting for the rice to get done, and now adding to my list of to-do's for clean up during or after cooking the rice. Of course, I do have OCD, personally, and to others maybe the rice cooker leaking and making a nice sticky mess on your counter doesn't bother you, but I hope you get the point. Being that, when you are doing magickal work, don't add to your issues, the original issues that is. If you are doing love work such as come to me, because you want him to get closer to you and express all of his desires and lust for you, and you pick a fight with him, or begin nagging and questioning him why he doesn't answer your call, or why he can't spend more time with you, you are defeating the purpose of the love work and adding insult to injury. When working reconciliation work, you are reconciling with your loved one, wiping the slate clean, starting new and fresh. What got you to the point of needing reconciliation work done in the first place? The nagging, the suspicion, the accusations, and assumptions that you place on your target two days after starting reconciliation work, yes will certainly place you in a no win situation where you wonder why your spell doesn't work. Holy cow...Bigger Sigh. Yes, I have had these types of cases before, and well, let me say that reconciliation work is more than a spell. You literally are asking to wipe the slate clean, to forgive and start fresh. WHY on earth would you go back to doing the same ol' behaviors that got you in this mess to begin with? You technically shouldn't. So, I say to you, take a deep breath, close your eyes, and think carefully about what your root worker advises you. Patience, persistence, strength, and believe in your work.
Ok, so there you have it, lovelies, a rant by yours truly, or a lesson learned, which ever you like to take it. :D
