Hoodoo Sugar Scrubs! Magick is only skin deep?

What girl doesn't love bath and beauty products to add to their daily beauty regime?
How about a little magick to that beauty regime? This girl is a sucker for beauty and spa treatments, especially organic and homemade ones. I like to act tough, but deep down, I am a beauty queen pamper addict. We only get one chance to love and pamper ourselves and our bodily temples. I like to spoil the shit out of my skin. I use to sunbathe regularly growing up, being a beach babe, sun worshiper, and oh how many tanning beds I have laid in... Not any more. Although I am a sun worshiper, but my skin isn't! Lol. This year I turned the big 4.0. And although for years I have wanted to start a beauty line, I had other focuses in mind as you guys have seen, but I did do some early trials of making lotions and spiritual soaps from goats milk and shea butter, etc. It just didn't stick, and I burned out fast on it. I knew there would come a time that I would draw attention back to this area and turning 40 this year, seriously kicked me in the ass one day when I thought "WOW, I do take care of myself but time can not be stopped, and who knows when our health will start to take a toll on us". In fact, last year, I disappeared for a long while due to some health and digestive issues that literally resulted in me losing a lot of my hair. As soon as I realized it was becoming an issue and the fear of losing ALL of it, I kicked my beauty regime up a notch or two and set in a routine of not only nourishing my insides with daily doses of herbal and vitamin treatments but hair masks that I made myself along with some advice from my awesome girlfriends. Not to long after, the anxiety subsided and I started seeing massive improvements in my hair's condition. But while I was doing all this hair pampering I started adding more facial treatments and body moisturizers to my daily routine, and especially during this ridiculous winter weather we are having here in the mountains, my skin dries fast and it's already sensitive as hell, so it only made sense that my focus was turning towards developing some products to share with others that have greatly helped my dry skin! Lol.

I love love love Sea Salt scrubs, have used them for years, but recently I came to enjoy some Sugar Scrub samples that a friend gave me. I was hesitant on using them, thinking"EWWWW what a sticky ass mess, hell NO, not touching it"! Errr... Well, insert foot into oral orifice and shut the hell up, Girl...
Now I have a new fetish, muwhahahahhaa! And it's gets even sweeter, Baby. (Pun intended, yes I am the asshole cheeseball... *big stupid grin on V's face*) Magickal infused Body Sugar Scrubs! YAY!
Lol. Time to spoil your temple, people... Every act, every daily ritual, should have magickal purpose. Makes sense to me...
So, I whipped up a bunch of batches of Sugar Scrubs all that have some skin benefits, but magickal benefits as well. Two birds, one stone, right? Magick comes from within ourselves. Our soul is captured in these beautiful temples we call our bodies. So, I see no reason why we can't be working a little magick in our lives, while cleansing our temple, and attracting the good things in life. This is how I approach any spiritual soap or baths on the markets. Sugar Scrubs only make sense while combining the process of scrubbing off the impurities we collect daily, sweetening up our skins with sugar which is a popular agent in hoodoo work to make us sweet enough to attract the pleasures we adore in life, and add a little magick to it and you got a serious awesome easy to do ritual practice going on weekly, without effort. Seriously.

With that said, here's some classic Hoodoo formulas whipped up in good Ol' homemade Sugar Scrubs. A few formulas that I will be offering are:

Road Opener
Come To Me
Money Drawing

2015 = New Hoodoo Oils, New Blogs!

So the new year has begun, Thank goodness for this. 2014 was all about change, buckling down, rededicating myself, and sorting priorities!
So, new this year for hoodooing are some new conjure formulas. I won't give away the secrets but expect them to be released soon and throughout the year as I get the time to add them to the shop. OH! And more blogging! Expect to hear random rants, informative instructions, updates, new releases, etc.
Also, I created a new way to purchase my products, if you guys haven't already seen my new online shop outside of the website, it's on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/ConjureAndTheRoot (no longer active)!
Since the days of Ebay been there done that, I decided to give Etsy a shot, since I am a buyer on Etsy all the TIME! I decided hell why not. I tried Etsy years ago before it became popular for any witches to sell their items on there, so although competitive, it at least opens up a new door to getting exposed to more customers.
You will see new services added as well, and new payment options for those that need it. The new services added are Skype tarot reading sessions 30 minute and 60 minute options. Also look for some additional reading options as well. I have been currently working on a bone set, gathering it together, and bonding with the pieces, and doing readings for a select few that have asked for one.
I also have a few new deck options that I have been allowing some regular clients choose from, so I will be offering readings with those special decks. And the best one that I have had such a blessing to have listed is the service option for directly petitioning some of my Saints that I work closely with. I have had so many requests over the years for something like this, so now it's being offered.
So, look forward to some new things at Conjure and The Root. ;)

More Conjure and The Root Updates for Client work

This is going to only affect clients and customers from the last two months so bear with me here. A recent crash of my computer and salvage attempt contributed to losing more than half of my computer files which include email consultations, email tarot reading drafts (not saved on the server), loss of client case files (photos of prework, work, and follow ups), in addition to several business files (I believe these are backed up on a disk somewhere), but client case files and the photos for each client, personal photos and ritual work photos included are not backed up due to frequent change outs in client cases. SOO, what this means right now, is that if you have not heard from me and you have an open case, please send me a quick email, so that I may sort you back into files and we can do a brief follow up on your work. The cases I have now are written out in book form but do not include photos of work performed, only in note form. Your written file contains only the original consultation/reading photo you sent during the initial set up of your new case. Everything else is stored electronically. Just so happens that I didn't renew a cyber back up spot last year, go me, yay, Vescha... A lot of emails I will be able to recover on the Gmail server, but that is going to take some time to sort through the folders as they are not nearly as organized as the folders were in my Outlook. Blessings Vescha

We made it! YAY GA mountain Hoodooing!

OK! So we are here! Photos to come soon, we are still in the building phase, but here we are GA Mountains, here to leave our imprint (and footprints :) ).
Update: Seriously behind on emails, tarot readings, orders from the past few weeks. Have had some connection issues with the internet, and I get 0 cell phone service up here. We are in a very rural area now, more than 5 miles into the woods in the forest, but only about 15 minutes from the closest town. So, emails are going to take longer to respond to on certain days, this is part of the adjustment I will have to live with.

Now is the time to slow down, retreat, reflect, the future has begun now. A new home, a new life, a new adventure. Everyone is still making adjustments, some harder than others, but everyone is healthy, and looking upwards to reach their goals. There is no turning back now, we walked away from the past, will hold onto great memories, and we are here to make some new ones!

Relocation Of Sacred Vescha Conjure

The time is fast approaching that I am relocating with my family and the Conjure Botanica. What this means to you? Not much, if you are just a regular reader, Lol. But giving you guys the warning that when this time comes in a few weeks that emails will be on hold, orders on hold, new spell work on hold. We have been doing a very slow transition moving, and this isn't a simple move across town, or down the block. We are moving 100 miles from here to a remote place in the mountains, so it's going to take a few days to get up and running again after everything is moved over, including internet connectivity, getting unpacked as quickly as possible, getting these three vagabonds settled into their new routines, you know the family life and all that good stuff. We have moved about a quarter of the place. As most of you know, the shop is attached to my house, so that means it's the last to be moved over. Any current client work will be wrapped up and sent on it's way to the client as needed. Other client work will be moved to the new location i.e jar spells, mojo bags, and other movable things. Light settings will be completed and any new order of light settings will be on hold. Reoccurring light sets will resume in my private space in the new place and be the first to be up and going before shipping orders resume. The store site will be closed during the actual move, so if you are planning to buy anything in August, please, please get the orders in as soon as you can. The second weekend of September I will close the shop Sept 6th through Sept. 13. So the latest to put in orders will be Sept 5th. I will mail these last orders out over the weekend and early the second week, but no new shipping orders will be accepted. I will accept Tarot Readings, as these can be done nightly. The shop will resume normally on Sept. 14th. As I said before, continued light sets will be worked, honey jars, and mojo bags as well. Any other spell work will be on hold as discussed with the clients.
Happy late summer!
Mama V!

SVC Moving Locations

So the most important announcement is that we are moving locations which really is not going to affect many of you since most of you are outside of Georgia, but those of you who are my Georgia customers, it's official, location is going to be in North Georgia Mountains area in a few months. We are building a new home so as construction pends, so will an official "move date". The sooner the better in my opinion! The downside is uprooting three kiddies of the home they have spent 11 years growing up in and being so far away from some of my family members who are close to me and nearly joined at the hip ;). Lol. The upsides though are that I will have a separate sacred space from the living quarters for SVC business and a separate sacred space for ritual and Ezili Roots my temple space. Another upside is that I will be in the Georgia Mountains, on a hilltop, with running water, a small little farm nestled in the woods. :D And yet another upside is all the great outdoor adventuring me and the family will be doing with plenty of hiking, camping, boating, swimming, we will get to do. Smaller town means more quiet time, less distractions, for more serene time to contemplate, write, paint, and meditate. The quieter the better for Mama V. :)

Back up and writing!

The last few months have been quite busy here at the botanica and Ezili Roots Temple!
We've had several events and feasts including our 10th anniversary celebrating Fet Gede, which began as a small group of workers to what has become an amazing event with lots of old and new friends coming to join us here for a wonderful ritual and feast.  In December I will be having a few events that you won't want to miss out on, November 23 marked the first of a long ahead tradition of Friendsgiving where peeps brought leftover yummies and I cooked Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and Lord I can't even remember what else now, lol, and on December 26th, we are doing it again for friends old and new. As the holidays were approaching this year I reflected on how much I love my family and my friends just as they are a part of my extended family and although we usually come together for solstice and New Years, I wanted to share (and feed them, cause that's what I do... :D) with them the holiday spirit, especially for those who do not have family close in town, or at all. If you know my personality, I am a giver and a Mama who loves to nurture and make a warm cozy home for even my friends. :) Well... come December I'll do it again, day after Christmas, so be sure to let me know if you would like to come join us. :)
In the midst of cooking, holiday shopping, family gatherings, working my TAIL off, wrapping up the last weeks of school before the holiday break for my youngeons, I have received several good reviews on the website and new subscribers to the newsletter (which a few will be coming out shortly this month that post the monthly events here with Ezili Roots and some recipes for the holidays, maybe even a few recipes for some root work ;) ).
Here's a link to sign up for that newsletter : SVC's Newsletter
Here's a link to read the recent reviews of the botanicas services and products : Testamonies
If you have a review of my products and services feel free to write one up on the page!

SVC Newsletters

So we are going to give this ol' Newsletter thing a shot for the customer data base and anyone else wanting to subscribe. I will admit, I am not good at things like that, or marketing, getting the word out, or whatever you internet marketing gurus are calling it these days. :/
So here's a link, don't expect a newsletter today or tomorrow, but do expect one maybe possibly next week? or the week after. There. How's that for a first marketing speech? :D

Which is the best product to buy?

Which is the best product to buy?

I get this question frequently especially from newcomers. Here’s my thought on this question and what I try to express to my clients. It’s not about which kind of work, ritual baths, candle magick, or a mojo bag is the strongest or quickest. I feel that all good spell work begins with the worker and his or her confidence and natural gifts. For instance, for me when I do my own personal work I always begin with a good ritual bath. I enjoy baths because they are calming, relaxing, refreshing, and all that girly stuff you think of when it comes to baths. The second reason I enjoy ritual baths is because I feel water is a great receptor for energy work. It’s also hydrating and penetrating. Of course, I enjoy spell casting as well, it’s a natural gift for me, but even before spell casting begins, I ritually bathe! So, what might come natural to one might not to another. If you aren’t the casting type and are not comfortable, don’t force yourself, doubt can be harmful to your work! Now the second condition on which to buy is how much time do you have to spend doing the work. Spells take time from an hour to days spent on the spell. Yet another condition is how serious is the work or how in depth is the situation? When working a serious hardcore situation, multiple products might be useful. Beginning with ritual bathing for cleansing and protection, to casting your spell, and then wrapping it up with a Novena Candle burning as a back up. Experience plays a role in making these decisions too, but without confidence and without experience you will have doubt and no focus therefore your work might not be as successful. How much effort and dedication do you have to the work? If it’s not much, then OK, buy a candle and see what happens, or lay down some powders to see what effects take place. These really are not my decisions to make because I can not FORCE you to work a spell or a bath if your heart isn’t 100% into the work. We would be wasting our time. The best thing to do is be honest with yourself; are you serious about the work, do you have the time to do the work, is your heart completely into the work, and how complicated is your situation? Only you can answer those questions. Once you know those, you should be pretty sure of which products are best for you to use. It could be one or it could be 4, you could start off by doing simple work, but then need to follow up with the work later as needed. That’s why you must be sure you are dedicated to complete it, as such, new issues could arise in a situation that weren’t clearer before you even started. It’s not always the case but I have seen it happen. I can’t say it enough, confidence.
